As many of you know, we’ve had indoor humidity issues during the past two Surf City bonspiels, resulting in very challenging playing conditions. After extensive research, we have come to the conclusion that on very hot June days, with so many curlers in the building for extended periods, the humidity can’t be controlled. Fortunately, the rink doesn’t have this problem during the cooler fall/winter/spring days. For that reason, the board has decided to move our annual Surf City Spiel to a cooler time of year, so that we can once again offer our spielers a great on-ice experience. Dates and details for the 2018 Surf City Spiel will be forthcoming as soon as they are available.
In the meantime, we urge you to support this summer’s other MoPac region bonspiels, which can be found on the US Curling Association website. We are looking forward to our always popular Surf City Spiel in a new time slot!
